Wolcottville, Indiana
The Farmhouse at
Big Long Lake
A lakefront vacation rental on Big Long Lake — 4 bedrooms, a private dock, and room for 12 in the heart of Indiana’s Amish country.
A place to gather.

About the Home
The Farmhouse is one of the oldest properties on Big Long Lake. It's been gently updated over the years but never lost what makes it feel like home.
Four bedrooms sleep up to 12 guests — bunk rooms for the cousins, a kids room with twin beds, and two rooms for the grown-ups. Two full bathrooms, a full kitchen with everything you need for big breakfasts, and a dining table long enough for the whole crew.
Outside, the lakefront yard runs straight down to your own private dock on Big Long Lake. There's a deck for morning coffee, a firepit for after-dark s'mores, and enough open grass for wiffle ball.
The bones are the same. The screen door still slams. The dock still catches the evening light. It's clean, comfortable, and unhurried — a place that feels like it's always been part of the lake.

Living Area

The Lake
Big Long Lake is an all-sports lake in LaGrange County, Indiana — roughly 300 acres of clean water surrounded by woods and old lake houses. Swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding — it's all fair game.
In the mornings the lake is glass. Bring your coffee down to the dock and watch the mist burn off. By afternoon the kids are jumping off the dock, tubes are getting pulled, and someone's always fishing off the end.
Bass, bluegill, and crappie keep the anglers busy. The lake is deep enough for tubing and skiing but small enough that you can kayak the whole shoreline before lunch.
Summer evenings are the best part. The water goes still, the sky turns gold, and everyone ends up sitting at the end of the dock doing nothing in particular.
The Area
Wolcottville sits in the heart of LaGrange County, Indiana — Amish country, lake country, and about as far from a highway as you can get.
Shipshewana & Amish Country
Just 15 minutes away. The Shipshewana Flea Market runs every Tuesday and Wednesday from May through September — over 700 vendors across 40 acres. Grab a pie from an Amish bakery on the way home.
Farm Stands & Local Eats
Fresh sweet corn and tomatoes from roadside stands all summer long. LaGrange County is farm country, and the produce shows up everywhere — front yards, gravel pull-offs, hand-painted signs you can't miss.
Small-Town Rhythm
Wolcottville moves slow. That's the whole point. Quiet roads, friendly waves, nowhere to rush to. It's the kind of place where the ice cream shop is a 5-minute drive and the biggest decision is what flavor.
Outdoor Adventures
Pigeon River Fish & Wildlife Area is a short drive east — great for hiking and birdwatching. Mongo is a few minutes down the road. Chain O'Lakes State Park is about 30 minutes south for anyone who wants a day trip.
